Beatons switched to KeConnect in June, following an assessment by the Ipswich based Service Provider of the group’s requirements. Beatons were keen to use email and the internet to their full potential as valuable business tools and needed advice from a reliable, local Internet Service Provider on how to take the next step. KeConnect provided Beatons with a secure, cost effective broadband and remote access solution to meet the brief.

Roger Beaton, Managing Director of the Beatons Group said, “KeConnect established the requirements of the firm and provided a quick and efficient installation. So far there has been a swift response to any technical difficulties and help on hand from the experienced team in Ipswich. The continuous access to emails has and will continue to assist Beatons in improving their client services and response times. It has assisted the marketing department as newswires and information can be circulated quickly. In general, broadband provides a faster & more reliable access to the internet. Obviously the flat fee associated with broadband is advantageous”.

An important part of the changes that KeConnect put in place was the implementation of a VPN or ‘Virtual Private Network’ from Roger’s office at home to Beatons internal network, created by effectively ‘linking together’ the broadband connections at either end.

Roger commented, “The VPN facility allows me to check emails and gain secure access to company information from home, at any time of the day, providing me with a greater degree of flexibility”.

KeConnect, East Anglia’s leading independent Internet Service Provider is now in its seventeenth year of business.

Business Development Manager Lisa Andrews said, “KeConnect are always looking for ways to team new technology with tried and tested business processes to enhance our client’s productivity. In these days of home office based businesses and larger businesses with remote workers, a telephone alone is not enough to ensure that everyone involved has access to all the information that they need to do business. A secure, direct link via the internet into a central point is the ideal solution, and with technology like Broadband at our fingertips, it’s not as costly as one might think”.
