KeVoice Outage (CLOSED)
Last updated: 11/04/2008 17:00
Update at 13:57
Following the previous notification, VoIP subscribers who are on cluster 2 (where VoIP seats, accounts are located within the platform) when trying to dial out would have seen “service unavailable”. Session manager 2 (specific server location that houses customer VoIP domains) was backing up outbound calls and got overloaded which caused what appeared to be a delay in connection.
This issue caused users when dialing out to receive a service unavailable message, and when trying to receive inbound calls users saw the number displayed but on picking up the call the phone appeared dead when in actual fact that initial call had been and gone, but from the receivers point of view it is a fresh call.
Users unaffected by Cluster 2 will be able to operate normally.
The issue has been resolved and was pinned down to a specific user that had created a loop within the platform and therefore generated additional traffic that congested the network. This in itself is extremely rare and will not be happening again.
Apologies for any inconvenience that this issue has caused.
